Announcement from Art Therapy Without Borders

Join us for an Expressive Arts Therapy, Trauma-Informed learning experience this November and a portion of your registration fee will go to supporting Art Therapy Without Borders.

WORKSHOP: "Arts-Based Positive Psychology, Mindfulness and Mind-Body Approaches to Trauma-Informed Intervention," November 1 & 2, 2012, Holiday Inn Coolidge Corner, Boston, MA [right before the MA Mental Health Counseling Assoc. Annual Conference in Newton, MA, Nov. 3rd, 2012]

This two-day course on trauma-informed practice emphasizes the principles of positive psychology in conjunction with mindfulness and arts-based mind-body approaches essential to trauma recovery. Participants will learn how to apply four key factors in trauma-informed work-- resiliency, empathy, compassion and gratitude. Interventions and practice exercises from mindfulness meditation, Focusing-Oriented Art Therapy© (FOAT), Trauma-Informed Art Therapy© and expressive arts that help traumatized clients of all ages are presented. The course includes a dynamic combination of lecture, discussions, hands-on experiential practices, short films and case examples. 12 units of continuing education credit have been applied for with NBCC.
